Harvesting - 2020

Another Haskap harvest is complete. This year’s video focuses on operating the harvester and shows how we simply couldn’t harvest our crop without it. We also have a video on our Weed Badger Model 4000 and how it will eliminate 30-40 hours per week of manual hoeing.

Our biggest challenge this year was the weather. Prior to harvest, it rained a lot. During harvest, it rained. We persevered and managed to harvest enough berries for our planned Haskap wine production.

This year’s harvest was assisted by Collin’s son, Shane, and Collin’s wife, Gigi. Having them on-site allowed us to complete all tasks efficiently. Harvest week is always extremely busy and their help was greatly appreciated.

We had a guest for harvesting week, Ryan Husband of Husbandry Farms. Ryan and his wife own a Haskap farm and will soon be producing healthy, delicious products designed to support busy lifestyles.
